***This week was great because my Mom was finally taken off the breathing tube and off the ventilator. We are going on 2 weeks in the ICU. The nurses taking care of her are as happy as we are that she is improving. She has become the favorite of the nurses......Erika, Rebecca, Mark, Sue, Helen, Florence, Ann,
and Delores.... all are such wonderful nurses who really cared for my mom. Today I baked a batch of cookies for the nurses and I even took a separate batch in for the night nurses (thats the night nurse in me).
Mom is breathing better but now we are worried about her blood counts. Her platlets are not improving and her WBC count is very low. They plan on doing a bone marrow biopsy this Friday. We won't have the results of that until sometime next week. She is very weak, but today she had her first physical therapy where they tried to get her out of bed. It was difficult with the help of two of the PT's they got her out of bed to a chair. The steriods have made her too weak to bear any weight. That will come back slowly. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, it made me feel very thankful to have such great friends.
