A new fun quilt just finished ...this one is for my Etsy shop. The pink fabric is from Kaffe Fassett called Scarlet Stencil, the blue is Jennifer Paganelli's Royal Amy Dot Stripe from the Bell Bottom Collection and the border is Debbie Mumm. The back is pink flannel. I just love the two fabrics together.

Kevin is very happy with the outcome. He even posted it HERE on his BOGO (brotherhood of Grabber Orange) forum, a mustang club that has a dot net website.
This is his favorite design, the lone star quilt combined with the colors of his car.

Kevin's Lone Star is pieced! YEAH!! Now for the borders and the backing. I have some neat plans for the back of the quilt! Don't go back to work until Tuesday night so I am trying to make the most of it. Here are some more pics of Dale playing in the snow. He played for another couple of hours in the snow today!
I know I left the bone here somewhere!

So far we have about 15 inches! Amazing....it doesn't usually snow like this in December. Usually we get the big ones in February or March. This is my favorite pic, Dale with all the snow stuck under him after playing in the snow for an hour. I had to rinse is undercoat in the bathtub to melt the snow balls! Now, back to sewing and some hot chocolate!
Kevin with his pony! It sticks out in the snow!

My mom and I have 6 purses to get done by next week for 6 little girls! Here is the start of them. They just have to be put together and add the straps. The outside is strip pieced and the quilted onto the lining and then the inside pocket was added. I will post the finished pics when we are all done!

What do you think? Working on the Lone Star quilt today and hopefully all the way through Saturday night when I go back to work. It is supposed to be a Christmas gift for hubby, we will see! Here is the first attempt at my first diamond, the first of eight. How do you think my points match? I think I did pretty good for my first time at this technique. Thanks Jan Krentz for the DVD to help me learn how to do these. I think she would be proud of me, LOL!!

I like this one best as demonstrated in the design mirror.
I don't like this one as much as the red center. This one the diamond is rotated with the red as the outside point.
I think I am going with the first picture, what do you think?

This is my fabric mock up and how it will look on the dark versus the lighter fabric. I like the diamond on the dark best.
Above is a fabric mock up of my diamond cut and glued to the diamond.
Above is the first set of strips to get started
This is a xerox of the fabric mock up to see if I like them together. The color is a little yellow on the xerox but when I hold it up to a design mirror, I was very happy with them.
If you remember here is the fabric I had to work with and why it is the color orange.....to honor his favorite Grabber Orange Mustang and his favorite type of quilt, the Lone Star or Texas Star quilt.
Well, I better get going, I have lots of work to do before Christmas!
